This report provides an in-depth assessment of Sri Lanka’s green finance landscape as it relates to the tourism sector and coastal sustainability. It outlines the country’s economic recovery context, tourism trends, and national efforts to promote sustainable finance. The report maps key green finance institutions, international financial support mechanisms, and SME-focused financing schemes relevant to sustainable tourism investments. PROMISE project activities supporting financial institutions and tourism MSMEs are documented, including green finance workshops and access-to-finance facilitation. The report identifies structural challenges, capacity gaps, and opportunities for scaling green finance. It offers practical recommendations for financial institutions and policymakers, supported by lessons learned from on-the-ground implementation.
