Over the last decades a lot of funds have already been invested into activities that are supporting the development of Sustainable Consumption and Production in Asia, such as demonstrating cleaner technology and cleaner production to the industry, setting up eco-labelling schemes for the consumers, and strengthened policy-reinforcement of environmental law. This development is ongoing and new projects and activities will be added in the future, for instance the new SWITCH-Asia Projects. To avoid duplication of activities and thereby waste valuable funds, it is necessary to improve the co-ordination among donors and practitioners and help each other to get a better overview of what has already been done, and what is still needed.
SCP in Asia is an attempt to collect a solid data base of projects implemented in the region, lists of useful organisations to work with, and a better overview of existing policies and guidelines promoting SCP. This data base is your opportunity to share experiences on SCP in Asia, by uploading your relevant information. This can help other stakeholders to find specific information for one or more countries, for instance when starting the process of developing a new project.
Therefore, help us make the data base useful to other donors and practitioners in the field of environment and sustainable business and upload all you know about SCP in your region.
