In 2011, the SWITCH-Asia Network Facility plans three sub-regional events instead of one big Networking event for all 30 projects. The purpose of the sub-regional events is to intensify contacts and connection within a region. The Network Facility will invite 10 projects to either Sri Lanka, China or Indonesia. Besides project representatives, policy-makers targeted by the SWITCH-Asia Policy Support Component will join the events for a closer dialogue between decision-makers and practitioners. These sub-regional networking meetings will be organised as two-day events, with a strong emphasis on progress and impacts of the projects. The new SWITCH-Asia Policy Support Component will also be presented, and discussions will be held on the role of market development and financing for ‘green services and products’ under SWITCH-Asia.
Each of the sub-regional events will host approximately 60 participants. The next annual SWITCH-Asia Networking Meeting gathering all current projects, the projects selected under the ongoing 3rd call for proposals, EU representatives, and various other SCP stakeholders, is planned for 2012.
