Sustainable tourism in Asia

Addressing the current unsustainability of mass tourism destinations appears to be a most urgent issue in Asia and beyond. While it might not be possible to transform these destinations towards sustainable tourist destinations within short time, it is possible to start reducing significantly their negative environmental and social impacts.
By means of solutions already launched by SWITCH-Asia projects in the region as well as experts' insights, this paper illustrates how the pressing needs of tourism in Asia can be tackled in a sustainable way.
