Better E-waste management in India

By 2012 waste consisting of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is expected to grow 8 lakh tones in India. Only 40 per cent of India’s total e-waste is recycled. Sri Lankan Chamber of Commerce to promote sustainable tourism with EC funds

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), under the SWITCH - Asia Programme funded by the European Commission, is enhancing the environmental performance of Sri Lankan hotels. The project aims to increase market acceptance by promoting green hotels with a low carbon foot print. The main beneficiaries of the project are small and medium hotels. Within four years the project will support 350 Sri Lankan hotels to reduce their energy and water consumption up to 20%. » Read more...
