Cleaner cook stoves for Myanmar

In Myanmar the population heavily relies on firewood and charcoal for their daily cooking, using inefficient and highly polluting cook stoves. The lack of stove testing facilities and protocols coupled with limited consumers' information and awareness exposes consumers to continuous health hazards and results in non-standardised production of cook stoves.

Since 2014, this SWITCH-Asia project has been working in Myanmar to promote large scale access to certified, efficient and clean biomass stoves for vulnerable communities, thus contributing to improved living and working conditions, new economic opportunities and climate change mitigation.
