World Circular Economy Forum 2017

The Forum gathers together the most recognised experts and decision makers in the field and presents the world's best circular economy solutions. The circular economy presents new and unprecedented opportunities to create wealth and wellbeing, as well as how it is the essential engine to achieve the ambitious UN Agenda 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals.

Participants attending the event will share experiences and learn of the best solutions that allow businesses to gain a competitive advantage, create more value and generate new growth and jobs in societies around the world. The event programme consists of 17 plenary and parallel sessions showcasing circular economy solutions for business, cities and finance.

The programme offers a variety of side events and business excursions. The Boulevard of Opportunities offer circular economy solutions presented on the marketplace, where participants can share ideas and visions on the opportunities stage and meet interesting new people at the Lakeside chats.

During WCEF 2017, the UN International Resource Panel (IRP) will hold its meetings in Helsinki and launch new reports. The IRP consists of world leading scientists on issues related to sustainable management of natural resources and circular economy. While meeting in Helsinki, Panel members will also contribute to WCEF 2017.

In conjunction with the conference, the SWITCH-Asia Network Facility intends to organise a one-day event on June 7 to facilitate linkages between SWITCH-Asia associated SMEs with green financiers.

The World Circular Economy Forum is free of charge to participants - as Finland celebrates its 100th Anniversary Year and also World Environment Day. However, participation is by invitation only.

If you are interested in joining WCEF 2017, please contact wcef2017(at)sitra.fi for your registration link.

Participation at the SWITCH-Asia one-day event will be opened for the SWITCH-Asia projects and their associated SMEs, who have responded to the call for contribution, submitted a proposal, and been selected by the Network Facility in January/February 2017.
